Terms & ConditionS
Payment: Rent-a-Queen takes a 50% deposit to secure the date - your booking is only confirmed once this deposit has been paid via bank transfer or debit/credit card (with a 2% surcharge). If your booking is confirmed less than 21 days in advance we may ask for the total amount payable in full before the event, also to be considered a “deposit” for the purpose of terms-and-conditions below.
Any remaining balance (typically 50%) is payable post-event, with an invoice being sent within 1-3 working days. For private events booked by an individual (eg a wedding, birthday party) payment is due immediately. For any events booked by a company (be that a sole trader, limited company, etc) we offer 30 day payment terms.
Cancellation by Client: You have until 21 days before the originally stated Event Date for a full refund of the deposit.
From 21 up to 14 days before the Event Date we can offer a part-refund of the deposit or the option to postpone to a new Event Date (see below). The refund amount is typically 50%, less the amount of any hard costs already outlaid for your event (E.G. airline tickets, costumes, graphic design etc)
For any Cancellations from 14 to 5 days before your event, the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel within 5 days of the event then you are liable to settle the balance in full.
Postponement: You have until 14 days before the event to reschedule your event, and apply your deposit to a new date. For any postponement after the 14 day point, your deposit is nonrefundable and a new deposit will be required to secure a new date. The new date must be scheduled within 30 days of the original event date, or your deposit will be lost - exceptions to this may be offered on request.
Cancellation by Talent: In the unlikely event a performer needs to cancel at any point before your event because of sickness, travel disruption or an alternative commitment, Rent-a-Queen will secure an alternative performer. You will be notified and will have final approval on the new performer. All costs will remain the same unless stated and mutually agreed upon. In the highly unlikely event we cannot secure a replacement, for events with a single talent your deposit will be refunded in full, and for events with multiple talent a pro-rated refund will be offered.
Force Majeure: If the event needs to be canceled due to reasons outside of either party’s control (a natural or ecological disaster, extreme weather, terrorism, pandemic, civil unrest, outbreak of war or other emergency) then a refund of the deposit will be offered. However if an eventuality as listed above occurs when the event has already commenced or if the performer is at the venue ready, willing and able to perform within 3 hours of the agreed start time, no refund will be offered.
In the event of inclement weather (eg, the event was planned to be outside and it is raining) or sickness including incident of Covid-19 among the booking party, these do not qualify as force majeure and our cancellation policy would apply.
